In 2022, Tehomet strengthened its export reach by welcoming Petteri Ikäheimo as Export Manager for Wooden Lighting Poles. Based in Rovaniemi, Lapland, Petteri’s role focuses on expanding Tehomet’s presence throughout the EMEA region – from Europe to the Middle East and Africa. With a background in public outdoor wooden products, Petteri shares Tehomet’s mission of promoting Finnish timber as a high-quality, sustainable alternative to conventional materials.

Turning Timber Knowledge into Global Growth
Petteri’s experience growing up in a northern Finnish timber business gives him a unique edge in selling wooden products. He emphasizes that selling timber also means educating customers.
“People unfamiliar with wood often misinterpret surface cracks or grain variations. It’s our job to explain that wood is a living, organic material – one that naturally adapts and endures, even when appearance varies.”
As he travels the world, Petteri finds that Finnish quality holds weight.
